taking the alex route...
(yes, i will blog the baltimore trip... eventually...)
okay, so i want a digital slr... and i'm basically trying to decide between an canon eos 30d and a nikon d200... though the canon 5d is mighty tempting (full frame!), but is somewhat (way) out of my price range (more because i don't think it would be worth it for me than because i can't afford it or anything... so i don't want to hear any lip about that).
i've pretty much ruled out the 20d because of the lcd size (i figure if i'm gonna want a big screen, and it's not something that can be upgraded at a separate time).
oddly enough, someone's created a web site somewhat answering my question, but i'm still fence-ish. i don't have equipment for either, but daddy has an old nikon. i don't know if i can use any of his lenses, but i thought it would be awesome if i could borrow his telephoto or something like that. i eventually want my own collection of lenses and filters, but if i can borrow daddy's for a jumpoff point, that might be something to consider (i have no idea at this point).
(in-depth reviews... that i haven't read yet
nikon d200
canon 30d

ya know, sony's alpha mount SLR is looking pretty sweet too. that also inherits a good number of konica minolta lenses... might be worth checking out too, although there are no thorough reviews of it just yet.
Hey,
It's Angel from the good ol' Time Warner days. My fiance and I just bought a 30D recently and we love it. So I'm biased!
