does it make a difference...?

there's a cnn article today about a plane crash in thailand, but the link to the article enumerates the american casualties (4, in case you're wondering).

does that really make a difference? is the incident somehow more or less significant based on the number of americans who died?

i really can't stand stuff like this. get your priorities straight, please.
